THE VIMTO JUNIOR JOKER TOUR 2006
JACK TOWNSLEY IS
THE FUNNIEST KID IN BRITAIN!

Remember our competition to find Britain’s Funniest Kid? Well we did!
On August 16, Jack Townsley, aged 11, from Leeds, fought off tough competition from kids from all over the country to win the crown of the Vimto Junior Joker 2006 at the Junior Joker comedy show at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Budding comedian Jack, who originally cracked the crowds at the Asda store in Pudsey, has officially been named Britain’s funniest kid following the grand final of the competition where he laughed his way to the top, beating four other funny contestants for the title!
Five funniest finalists from around the country were taken on an all expenses paid trip to Edinburgh, staying at a cool five-star hotel, before taking part in the final. The kids really were put to the test, having to tell jokes, pull funny faces, do comical impressions and perform a Dr Dr sketch with a professional comedian!
Winner Jack said, ‘"All the kids were really funny so I just couldn’t believe it when they called my name. I was a bit nervous with the crowd and the judges watching but they must have liked me. I think it was my jokes and the actions I do on stage such as plate spinning and my impression of the lion from The Wizard of Oz.”
Jack won a special trophy, certificate and a year’s supply of the delicious purple stuff and of course, he’ll have his winning jokes featured on this website for the world to see!
The judges thought the runners-up, Terence Bird (10) from Liverpool, Devon Rogan (6) from Newcastle, Zahra Saqib (10) from Birmingham and Daniel Bird (14) from Manchester were so good, that they decided to give them all a year’s supply of the purple stuff!
