VIMTO GOES BAT-TY IN LANCASHIRE!

Nichols plc is supporting talented young sportspeople through an exciting new partnership with Lancashire County Cricket Club.

As the 2007 season takes to the wicket, Vimto will be the headline sponsor for the two primary youth competitions run by the Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) for Under 16’s and Under 11’s. The competitions will be renamed, with a touch of purple, to ‘LCB Under 16 Vimto Cricket Festival’ and ‘LCB Under 11 Vimto County Pairs Competition’.

On agreeing the partnership, Geoff Durbin, LCCC Commercial Director commented:  “We are delighted to be partnering with a world-renowned brand which has its roots firmly in the north-west, just like ourselves.  I am sure many Lancashire fans are already big Vimto fans and will be looking forward to ‘shlurpling the purple’ as they watch their cricket at Old Trafford”.

The deal will see the legendary Vimto logo emblazoned across the Red Rose building at the forthcoming Test match and throughout Lancashire’s domestic season, and all LCCC leaflets and programmes will feature the infamous Vimto splash insignia.

Vimto Brand Manager Claire Nield said:  “We share the belief that this will be a symbolic link for two well-known and much loved North Western brands, and we are extremely excited about the prospect of supporting the local community through working with LCCC.”
