Chorley CC win VIMTO U11 County Final

Chorley CC and Thornton Cleveleys CC from the Palace Shield met in the final of the VIMTO County U11 Final on Sunday 9th September at Thornton Cleveleys CC.

Batting first, Thornton Cleveleys reached a total of 256 in their twenty overs, with all their batters playing really well against some accurate bowling and tidy fielding from the Chorley boys.

Chorley also batted extremely well and the Thornton Cleveleys bowlers were unable to make significant inroads into the batting. Chorley made a winning total for the loss of only one wicket.

All the young cricketers on show played with considerable amount of enthusiasm and abilty, which augurs well for the future of both clubs.

The trophies and cheques for the winners and runners up were presented by Mr Peter Burley of Vimto and thanks must go to the Thornton Clevelys CC for hosting the game in such a professional manner.
