Couple shun Champagne in favour of vimto

Lauren and Mark Cohen of Prestwich, Manchester, have toasted the start of married life together by raising a glass of lovely, bubbly Vimto with friends and family.

The newly weds decided to do away with tradition and serve their favourite fruity tipple at the top table as well as the normal champagne and wine. 

The couple, who tied the knot at the Last Stop Village in Bolton, contacted Vimto last year saying that, not only was Mark a massive fan of the drink, but that they loved it so much they had decided to serve it at their wedding.  Vimto were so thrilled to be included in the wedding that they commissioned the design of a special bottle of Fizzy Vimto for the couple’s top table and commissioned a champagne fountain, consisting of 100 glasses to pour the celebratory Vimto into.

Lauren Cohen (nee Parkes) comments: “Vimto is Mark’s favourite drink, he drinks it all the time and has been drinking it since he was small.  We thought because he loves it so much it would be a great idea to celebrate with Vimto as well.

“Having Mark’s favourite tipple served to our guests from a champagne fountain was an amazing sight and raised quite a few chuckles among the guests who know just how much he loves Vimto.”
